Reviews Matter

So you have your social media account all setup; Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Yelp, TripAdvisor… You keep the content fresh, post regularly, answer questions in a reasonable time and you’re done, right? Wrong! Reviews are an important part of any businesses marketing strategy and social media is full of opportunities for people to rate your business. Don’t ignore them.

It’s polite to say thank you when someone pays you a compliment face to face and the same goes with a positive review on Facebook. It can be as simple as hitting “like” on a review or, if you have the time, a short thank you note as a reply.

On Google Plus, Yelp and most other social media networks, you can’t “Like” a review but you can respond, which doesn’t have to only be used to reply to negative comments. A thank you note shows that you care about your client’s satisfaction and it puts a human touch that can create an ongoing relationship with your clients.

That being said, negative reviews are not appreciated by any businesses and should be responded to as soon as possible  in a bid to show your willingness to do what is necessary to achieve client satisfaction. Replying shows that you care.

So pay attention to what people are saying about you and let them know you’re listening to what they have to say.
